Tee Blues / Swing / Soul BelgiumTEE, a.k.a. Marc Thijs, has been playing on the blues scene since 1986. He started out playing harmonica and singing in bands like THE FINSBURY PARK EMPIRE, THE SLIME HUNTERS, THE HEALERS and recorded with all of them. After switching to guitar he formed the more successful “THE ELECTRIC KINGS” , a major influence on many European blues bands. Meanwhile TEE has worked with many international touring acts on both European- and American ground.During his last eight months stay in the U.S. he recorded his first album under his own name “ this is… TEE”. The record contains 14 self penned tracks and two cover versions, all of them come with excellent performance and reflect a wide range of emotions! Recorded and produced by PALADINS bass player THOMAS YEARSLEY. This record sounds as raw and naked as it can get and features not only YEARSLEY himself on that big ole string-bass, but also one of California’s finest blues musicians JEFF TURMES. The record gets rave reviews in… Rootstown, Back To The Roots, OOR, and… national radio shows like DR. Boogie, Roots 66 and PILI-PILI. TEE stands out by singing and playing the blues so intense that more then once listeners mistake him for a coloured blues shouter from times long gone! Again you can ask the question “can white man play the blues?” It just might be you will get the answer to it right here! His steady 6-piece band holds some of the finest bluesplayers on the scene today ! Drummer WILLIE MAZE (ex- Electric Kings) ... .., a mastermind in all styles with impeccable time and feel ( Tee’s musical partner for over 10 years already ! ) is grooving the blues in the best tradition ! RENAUD LESIRE on the bass & ERNESTO ZVAR on B3 organ, a blues duo exceptionally talented! (both switched instruments from harmonica to bass, and guitar to organ, ……… just to give the band what we needed … WOW !! ) JAN BOECKAERTS ( baritone/tenor) as TEE’s favourite sax player will make all bullfrogs jump up and down when he honks, groans and jazz-up the joint. With a new CD recorded this band will bring you a blues show, reminiscent of an era long gone but, … with a style all of their own ! . ... THE PRESS “… Marc TEE, blues guitarist extraordinaire, newly arrived from Belgium, knocked the house down with his fat sound … “ NO HO NEWS ( L.A. California ) “… The missing link to the Benelux blues scene …” BLOCK ( blues magazine Holland ) “… Tee is a strong guitar player and a great songwriter, … his voice, which sounds black as can be, is his secret weapon. He swings like the greatest blues shouters …”... ... ROOTSTOWN ( roots music magazine Belgium) “… Most authentic …” BACK TO THE ROOTS ( blues magazine Belgium ) “… Greatest talent produced by Belgian blues scene …” BELANG VAN LIMBURG ( national newspaper) “… Musical Wonderboy …” HET NIEUWSBLAD ( national newspaper) “… Amazing Vocals …” OOR (music magazine Holland) “… Between Big Joe Turner & Screaming Jay,… crazed ! …” San Francisco EXPRESS...... copyright © 2004 BLUESWORK Special Thanks To Blueswork for this infomation !!!
